Here's a map of where we went. Not too impressive but it was a work day:
Here is a letter that was sent to me from Ralph which was his first time out wheeling his Jeep:
| Hi
Pete and Sue, Time to stop procrastinating and let you know I really enjoyed Sunday at Roush (sp) mountain. Although I was concerned about deep gashes in my paint job and it being a street jeep I really did have fun. OK, I am IMPRESSED. I had no idea a jeep could do those things, seeing pictures in a magazine and being there and actually doing it is worlds apart..... My step son and I had such a good time bragging about what we did and how we did it, we might get my wife out there the next time to take pictures, if the course will be easier.............. The kid and I are saving the bucks up for bigger tires first, trailer hitch in the back next and more experience will teach us what's next. I have belonged to a lot of organizations in my life time but I don't recall the spirit, companionship, friendliness, helpfulness and patience this group showed. I served in the Navy for 25 years as a machinists mate and have had to jury rig quite a few machines to keep them running until we got parts to make repairs and I saw some things out there that changed my mind about "civilians" and lack of mechanical aptitude. I am happy to be a member and hope, as I learn, to become an asset. My jeep has the badge of honor with dents and scratches to the underside and skip plates, a few marks on the fenders but no damage to my top or paint work. Which says a lot about experience and knowledge of the "guides". I believe there is a trail ride at the end of next month but I am not sure with everyone being out of town. Was there a volunteer and how we know? Will they contact us? Thanks a million for the fun. Shawn, his girlfriend Jamie, and my daughter Abbye had a great time. Of course I had to cater to my daughters request and go for a ride thru the woods with Lynn who was mapping out the park, but what the heck, its a jeep thing. I think I was told pictures would be posted on a different web site. Do you have the address. I need proof for the wannbe's at work. Thanks R/Ralph MstChfPal@aol.com |
