I will be very interested to see how this pans out. One of the good things I read in that articale is that one of the people involved with getting this going is a Jeep guy. All of the "state" offroad areas are closed to vehicles, having this one would be great. Between this, Rausch and Rock run we will have options right in our own state.

Dear Mr. Carpenter,

The Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Park is still in the planning stage. I ask that you check our website, www.norrycopa.net for updates. My best guess is sometime in 2011.

Best regards,

Frank J. Sawicki,

Chairman, Northumberland County Commissioners

I am wonder that if we, JeepsRUs, should offer to assist in any way that we can to help make sure this happens. Any time a legislative group is behind off road ethusiasts we need to support them where they are local to us or no because it is a very rare thing. Officers this is something, in my opinion, that should be discussed at the next meeting. I know I am the last person that should be making suggestions considering my meeting attendance has been way less than stellar recently but I am hoping you agree with me.

I agree with Kris.  Best to encourage any "officials" that are on "our" side of the land use issues.

Mr. Carpenter:

Thank you for your interest in the park. Unfortunately at this time it’s only proposed. We have contracted a consultant to perform a master site plan for the 6,000 acres in the lower part of Northumberland County on abandoned coal lands. I too am an owner of a Jeep Wrangler and I absolutely love the idea of this park.

We are in the process of setting up a web site to keep interested parties like you informed of the status of the park. Certainly when it is posted I can send you a link or you can visit our web site at www.norrycopa.net which is how you found me.

Our hope is to have the master site plan completed by Dec. of this year and construction to begin early next year. Please any chance you get give people this information. Keep in contact for status updates and encourage other off road users like you to thank DCNR and the Northumberland County Commissioners for their interest in great projects like this.

Thanks

Pat
